Calculation rules

For calculating the models with the highest ranking we are using the formula:
'weighted rating (WR) = (v / (v+m)) * R + (m / (v+m)) * C' which gives a true Bayesian estimate.

Where:
R = average for the model (mean) = (Rating)
v = number of votes for the model = (votes)
m = minimum votes required to be listed in this chart
(currently females: 10 males: 10)
C = the mean vote across the whole report
(currently females: 6.14 males: 4.28 maximum: 10)

Inclusion criteria:

• Models ranked here are at least 7 days available at this website.
• Female models have a maximum of 424 votes.
  (average number of votes: 80)
• Male models have a maximum of 266 votes.
  (average number of votes: 28)

In the algorithm to calculate the top models, the average number of votes on all persons is taken into account. Only models which have a number of votes which lies in the range between two limit values are counted. The lower limit is the average number of votes on all persons subtracted by an arbitrary number of standard deviations. The upper limit is the average increased by a number of standard deviations.

The lower limit helps to block out profiles which were only reviewed by a few people. I.e. one or two persons giving the model the maximum number of points makes this model not a top model. The upper limit blocks out profiles with an extreme number of votes compared with other models. I.e. 80 votes for one model where the average number of votes is 14 votes. Besides of that it's only possible to make one vote on the same profile from one unique IP-address. When you are voting again and again on the same profile using a dynamicly assigned IP-address (dial-in) the upper limit will come into effect. This algorithm is not perfect, but helps to get more accurate results.
